Challenge
The Museum Catherijneconvent wants to gradually make the museum more sustainable in the field of humidification. A specific question from the museum's maintenance department was: "How can we carry out safer maintenance and save energy?"
Solution
Started in 2017 to replace the smaller electrode steam humidifiers with adiabatic evaporative humidifiers. Up to and including this year, various improvements have been made in the humidification of the Museum Catherine Convention. See the information about this below.
Advantages
- 10% Energy savings on cooling hours: 10% and 92% on electricity consumption
- No risk of condensation and corrosion in ducts
- Minimal maintenance and less chance of malfunctions and downtime
Cons
- Air duct modification was required to allow installation and service access
- Water consumption has increased 55% due to hygienic rinses
2017
Placement of HomEvap humidifiers (6 pieces) instead of electrode C
				2017
2018
Dual humidifier equipped with hygroscopic after evaporation material instead of original; 50% water saving.
				2018
2020
Replace control Dual for Evapoair control, 100% saving on the electricity consumption of the pump
				2020
2021
Replace electric steam humidifier to SKV evaporative humidifier: 75% in energy saving and 50% in maintenance frequency.
